Bruce Ikefugi Bio
Mr. Ikefugi has focused his practice in the area of real estate law since admission to the New York State Bar in 1990. His day to day practice includes residential and commercial purchases and sales, mortgage lending, leasing, and statewide foreclosure and relocation services. He has negotiated, drafted documents, and closed numerous commercial loans on behalf of commercial lenders; additionally, he has represented several municipalities relative to foreclosures in connection with various grants and municipal liens. Bruce provides guidance in real estate related transactions not only statewide, but has also done considerable work in Maine, Vermont, and Florida.. Mr. Ikefugi frequently makes presentations to corporate clients, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, sellers, and homebuyers on a variety of topics related to real estate law, including foreclosures, mortgage financing, short sales, avoiding liability, and home purchases. With regards to more unusual matters, Bruce has had over 25 years of real estate experience in land contracts, wrap-around mortgages, reverse mortgages, property tax and zoning challenges, wetlands, septic and well disputes, and radon, mold, and foundation problems. He has also provided analysis, briefs, and memoranda in support and in challenge of real estate lawsuits, such as actions for partition and actions to quiet title.. As the Chair of one of the largest Real Estate Departments in upstate New York, he oversees thousands of sales, purchases, and financing transactions each year. When disputes or difficulties arise, his manner of handling them has earned him membership in Best Lawyers in America from 2012 through 2016. Membership is based on the votes and opinions of real estate attorneys in New York with firsthand experience working with him.
