I stayed on the Plains for a few years, helping a few political campaigns and working in the State Legislature before returning to Birmingham to attend law school.. While at Birmingham School of Law, I was active in leadership in the Judge Hugh Locke Honor Society and earned the Domestic Relations and Constitutional Law scholarships before graduating Magna Cum Laude.. I currently live in Gadsden with my little family: fellow attorney Kyle, the world's best puppers Abbey, and our newest kitty Dolly. In 2004, Ben became a founding partner in Barfoot & Schoettker, L.L.C. In 2007 Ben began serving as a Temporary Probate Judge in Montgomery County Alabama, a privilege he still maintains today. He served as President of both the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Trial Lawyers Association. Ben is married to the former Kimberly McWhorter and a proud father of their oldest daughter Neva Marie, son Samuel Benjamin and youngest daughter Clara Kae. He and his family are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church and currently serve in the children’s ministry. He enjoys fly fishing and turkey hunting as hobbies.
