Dave received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982 from the University of California, Santa Cruz. In 1985 he received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with distinction. He was also awarded the Order of the Coif and membership in the Traynor Honor Society, as well as receiving American Jurisprudence Awards in Contracts and Torts. During law school he served on the law review and worked at the United States Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of California helping defend military bases against claims of gender discrimination.
