So my mom five years ago got a divorce. She was with this person for almost 25 years married for about 17 all she got out of the divorce was a 30 year lease in which she didn’t have to pay anything on the condo in which they both had lived in prior to the divorce so my mom’s ex was to pay the mortgage and the condo fees in lieu of my mom taking any of her 401(k) or any other assets sidenote the condo was my mom‘s got it through the divorce of my dad but because my mom is 74 she quick claimed it to her. Ex five years prior to the divorce so that if she had to go into a elderly facility, they wouldn’t lose the condo so her ex moved down to Florida for a new job after the divorce got into a lot of debt according to her ex and is now filing for bankruptcy in which case because the condo is not her primary address will be put up for auction. My mom is on Social Security. She cannot work and barely is able to pay the bill she has right now. Is there anything she can do? can she go back to court and make her ex pay for an apartment or can she stop the sale due to bankruptcy on the property? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Location: South Florida My neighbor was a victim of a homicide 7 years ago. Although I thought his case went cold, in reality his death along with others were the focus of a state RICO investigation surrounding a murder for hire/robbery crew in in my county for the past 9 years. There were 4 individuals charged under the RICO and they are all listed as the defendants in the case and are in custody but their grand jury indictment is still sealed after 4 months (I am getting this from my counties clerks of courts site for official documents). The only reason I know my neighbor was a victim was because on the site the states notice of intent to seek the death penalty was available and listed names of all victims in the case (there were 8 or 9 murder victims in total) but the indictment is still sealed. I thought the only time indictments are still sealed are usually to prevent flight risk, and if suspects are not all in custody which in this all of them have been in custody 4 months ago. Would would be another reason for the indictment to still be sealed?

Location: Florida I’m hoping to get some advice on how to handle an established commercial property management team that is polite and responsive, but entirely ineffective at actually getting things done. I lease a small commercial suite in a medical building. For over 30 days now, there has been a biohazard (dried blood stain) sitting right on the outside of a toilet in the shared common-area restroom that they are legally contracted to clean and maintain. Every time I follow up, management replies acting surprised, claims they are "working on it," and says they don't know why their janitorial vendor hasn't handled it yet. Meanwhile, nothing changes except the stain slowly getting scuffed away by people’s clothing. This is part of a much larger, chronic issue with the building upkeep. The janitorial staff does the absolute bare minimum, usually just emptying trash cans while supplies are constantly empty and stains pile up on the walls and floors. Three months ago, I got hit with a huge Common Area Maintenance bill. I didn't push back on it, but I did request a desperately needed deep clean, which they promised me in writing at the time of the bill, but never happened. To add insult to injury, their CAM cost breakdown shows they are paying $30,000/year for a janitorial vendor for this small two-story building. Location: Florida Background: my husband and I live in a single home residence rental property that is managed through a property management company on behalf of the owner. In the lease we agree to keep the premises clean and sanitary, and operate "in a reasonable manner all electrical, plumbing, sanitary, heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and other facilities and appliances" as well as notify the landlord immediately if we discover a leak, mold or damage, etc. Long story long: a couple days ago I was sitting inside my house and noticed a rug in the bedroom had a wet spot (thought I had spilled at first but trying to soak the water up with a towel just led to endless water). I removed the rug and discovered it was halfway covered with water on the bottom and the LPV flooring underneath was making obvious squishing sounds. The bedroom wall adjoins the storage closet in our garage where the water heater and HVAC is enclosed. My first thought was the water heater had a massive leak that must have overwhelmed the drip pan, but when my husband and I opened the closet there was a pool of standing water and mold developing around the HVAC unit. Location: Florida A couple of months ago, my car was broken into while it was parked at my apartment. The police knocked on my door to let me know it had happened. At the time, I had just moved, and my car was full of unlabeled boxes. I honestly had no idea if anything had been stolen because I hadn’t unpacked yet. I told the responding officers multiple times that my car had been locked and that someone had forced entry to get inside. I also told them I would need to go through my boxes before I could tell if anything was missing. About a week later, after unpacking, I realized a couple thousand dollars worth of camera equipment and other items had been stolen. I called the police while the case was still open and reported everything. The person I spoke with told me they updated the case with the list of stolen items. Fast forward about a month. The case was closed, and I requested the police report because my insurance company needs it.
