Location: Texas Hi all. I am currently pregnant. Earlier this year, my coworker went out on maternity leave. She was allowed to work two weeks from home before her leave began and did not have to go through HR. She did have a high risk pregnancy, and I have the same diagnosis. When I spoke to my boss about also wanting to work from home for two weeks before my leave, I was denied unless I could provide a doctor’s note. I did, and now have to provide a daily, detailed task list along with an Accommodation Request Form filled out by me and a Medical Inquiry Form filled out by my doctor. My coworker did not have to do any of this. I would also like to add that another coworker was allowed to work two weeks from home before her maternity leave last year and did not have a high risk pregnancy, and also did not have to go through HR. Is there a way, legally, that I could deny this process as it has been unfairly enforced upon myself? Edit to add: We have the same job title and manager. Sorry about that! About four months ago, Bob got arrested for violating a protective order from his ex, and he either couldn't or wouldn't post bail, so he's been in jail ever since. So that left Jazz with a bunch of his stuff sitting at her apartment. Now, they've been in regular contact ever since. Bob asked a while back about some items from Jazz's apartment related to his legal defense; specifically a laptop computer, an old phone, and some paperwork. He suggested that either another friend of his ("Nick") or maybe his cousin could come pick the stuff up. This stuff has been set aside ever since then - for something like three months now. Despite repeated messaging, Nick never gets to the point of proposing a time to come get it. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, yesterday Nick messaged Jazz and threatened to file a police report for the "stolen property" if she didn't either provide a tracking number or a "concrete plan" to hand it off. Now from where I sit, we're doing our duty here. We've offered repeatedly to be available to hand off the stuff any time, day or night. The new management claims I must pay a month-to-month rent amount, but I haven't received any written details about this rate, which differs from my original lease agreement that does indicate converting to a month-to-month basis upon failure to promptly provide notice to vacate, but does not specify an amount. My interactions with the new management have only been verbal, and they've confirmed I owe $2649 (because I will submitting a notice to vacate upon the start of the month-to-month so will only be paying the minimum required $2649 one-month amount).
